What is the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa?

The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa is a residence permit scheme designed for non-EU / non-EEA nationals who wish to live in Cyprus while working remotely for foreign employers or clients. It allows remote workers, freelancers, and IT professionals to reside in Cyprus legally under terms that support a nomadic lifestyle.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa, applicants must meet all of the following:

Citizenship & Employment

  • Be a citizen of a non-EU / non-EEA country
  • Be employed by a company registered outside Cyprus
  • Perform self-employed or freelance work for clients outside Cyprus
  • Use telecommunications or remote work technologies

Financial & Legal Requirements

  • Stable monthly net income of at least €3,500
  • Valid health insurance covering inpatient and outpatient care
  • Clean criminal record
  • Proof of accommodation in Cyprus (rental lease or property deed)

Duration, Renewal & Family Dependents

Initial Duration

The initial permit is granted for one year

Renewal

Renewal possible for up to two additional years

Family Dependents

Spouse and underage children may be included (no employment rights)

Submit ApplicationFile the visa application and supporting documents at the Civil Registry & Migration Department in Nicosia (or other designated district units).
FeesApplication fee is €70. Additionally, a registration fee to the Aliens' Registry of €70 is usually required on first registration.
